Lots of fireworks going off all around our building and the area as the citizens of Hangzhou continue to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We are settling into our apartment and taking small excursions, and planning to do more. So far, we have been to a market (an adventure in itself), a grocery store, a street market, and–of all places–a Chinese take-out restaurant! Do you believe it! Right here in China. It is Saturday night here but Saturday morning in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Have a good day. Come back tonight for another visit–I’ll have a roundup for you to read of our experiences so far.
I was so happy to see your entry this morning to know you two had safely arrived at your destination.

Am really enjoying your blogs, Joe. Could you write a more in-depth report on Char’s experiences at school? What are her students like? How are they responding to her? What’s the physical classroom like? Has she picked up any Chinese phrases? Does she give out homework? Looking forward to more blogs.
